GUIDE TO CREATIVE JOB DESCRIPTIONS
User Experience Developer (UXD)
Learning what buyers want and translating it into consumer-centric products and strategies that drive your clients’ growth, is what you do best.
You’ll gather market intelligence, capturing insights to help your clients understand their industry and audience; make strategic decisions about where they fit in the market; and why target consumers might be interested in their products, how to promote them, and maximize their profits.
To achieve this, you’ll design and conduct interviews and surveys – either by telephone, online, or through focus groups – that help you identify market conditions, potential opportunities, sales trends, campaigns efficacy, demographics, consumer needs, and purchasing habits.
You keep up to date with industry trends and monitoring technologies like geofencing and eye-tracking, to study the consumer’s behavior and come up with targeted advertisements according to their preferences.
Being analytical is so significant for this role, that it’s even part of the title, but, research is only the tip of the iceberg. More than a strong communicator, you are a natural-born storyteller who – understanding human emotions – can take complex data from multiple sources, and distill it into easily digestible, visually appealing, and simple-to-follow recommendations for your clients.
Overall, you are passionate about getting to the root of any problem, and your desire to ‘figure it out’ makes you take on multifaceted projects and use data to get the answers your clients need.
This role is necessary across all industries, simply because every businesses need to know who their customers are, and what they want. Thus, it’s fairly common to see a wide range of backgrounds for Market Research Analysts, such as business, psychology, marketing, statistics, communications and computer science.
