Advertising Librarian
Essentially, the role of a librarian is to collect, index, and locate information. An Advertising Agency Librarian deals with publicized information on the agency, (it’s clients, competitors, trends), and advertising in general.
All advertisements and marketing efforts your agency harvests – and even award-winning spots produced by other agencies – are part of your collection. Upon request, you will verify facts and search for patent, trademark or copyright information.
To succeed in this role you need to be a people’s person due to the frequent interactions you’ll have with managers and other agency staff. Patience and organization skills are also a must, as you’ll often be handling multiple tasks and requests at the same time.
Tools of the Trade: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, other office related software. Knowledge of database system is a plus. Strong organizational skills are required
