Job Description:

A national retailer seeks a full-time or temp-to-hire Art Director to oversee direction and production of their print catalog. The Art Director will work closely with design staff, production artists, photographers, illustrators and more.

Our ideal Art Director, Print is a meticulous, talented visual storyteller who can collaborate with a wide range of professionals and lead creatives while meeting deadlines and brand standards. They must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in marketing, brand and creative strategy, managing internal creative teams, and Adobe CC. They must also be proficient in visual communication best practices and technologies across all digital and print channels. This position is 100% onsite and reports to the Creative Director.

Responsibilities:
- Assign tasks/projects to graphic designers and production artists.
- Mentor and manage junior designers reporting to you, including monthly performance reviews.
- Oversee the preparation and rollout of assigned projects, including product and deadline management across departments.
- Meet with merchant teams and other departments to streamline workflow and improve efficiencies.
- Lead garment-styling and work with photographer throughout production of catalog and product assets.
- Maintain the brand’s visual identity through tasteful curation of images for both online and print.
- Step in when needed to handle design for a variety of assets, including catalogs, flyers, landing pages, email assets, digital ads, and more.
- Keep abreast of industry trends and competitors.
- Lead shoot preparation, including model casting, shoot list, acquisition of props, photo styling, etc.

As Art Director, Print, you should have
- Strong retail or marketing graphics experience, with a proven eye for layout, typography, photo composition, and mood board creation.
- An understanding of photography, photoshoot management, and garment styling.
- Strong visual problem-solving abilities and the ability to adapt to shifting priorities.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Bachelor Degree preferred
