A national retailer seeks a full-time or temp-to-hire Art Director to oversee photo shoots and special projects at the company’s corporate headquarters in Fort Lauderdale, FL

The ideal Art Director is a passionate, talented, and detail-oriented team player who can move quickly and lead creatives across multiple disciplines. They must have a minimum of 4 years’ experience in marketing, brand and creative strategy, managing internal creative teams, and Adobe CC. They must also be proficient in visual communication best practices and technologies across all digital and print channels. This position is 100% onsite and reports to the VP of Creative.

Responsibilities:
- Work with the VP of Creative and other creative teams to develop a superior consumer experience, evolve current brand guidelines, and create actionable digital and print assets, including retail signage, retail emails, sales collateral, presentations, event graphics support, and more.
- Build and manage a small, highly engaged and effective design team of 2-3 reports.
- Oversee shoot prep, planning, timing, and wrapping as well as shot-list planning for apparel, on-figure, and in-studio shoot needs.
- Lead pre-production meetings with stylists, photographers, asset management coordinators, and other art directors to gather information critical to ensuring the success of upcoming shoots.
- Work with the Photography Manager to recommend shoot locations, cast talent, and book freelance stylists and hair and makeup artists based on budget and campaign directives.
- Guide the Photo Stylist to further develop their brand understanding and styling skills.
- Work with a copywriter on projects as needed to develop graphics and content for print, social, and multimedia platforms.
- Inspire the design team to generate strong, fresh visuals for assigned projects while guiding the full creative process, from concept and strategy to research and design.
- Review designers’ work through a QA/QC process and oversee all production-ready files to ensure accuracy, quality, and alignment with brand standards.
- Foster a proactive and strong cross-functional relationship with merchants, buyers, and product development teams.
- Maintain an organized studio space and oversee the storage, care, and maintenance of all styling supplies and samples.

This is a direct-to-full time or temp-to-hire opportunity working onsite for a national retail brand in Fort Lauderdale.
