Job Description:
A multinational tech network based in San Jose, CA, is searching for a Sr. DevOps Engineer to be part of the new Software group. This company is going through a significant change to add new services to its hardware which they have been producing for consumers, businesses and service providers.

As a Sr. DevOps Engineer with experience in automated build systems, CI/CD pipelines and test automation, you will work on the automated tools for the new team members. Initially this is a hands-on role and as the services and business grows, this role will become more a leadership/management position.

As Sr. DevOps Engineer you will:
- Be responsible for developing the infrastructure and building the team which will support it
- Work collaborating with embedded and mobile engineering teams on the software development processes
- Build flawless and efficient CI/CD pipelines
- Incorporate unit testing, code coverage and quality checks improving development hygiene
- Design and develop full-featured build systems
- Implement tools and scripts enabling flexible and efficient builds
- Build system implementation to the bug tracking system (JIRA)
- Create efficient and flawless deployment process for AWS cloud
- Recognize and spread best practices throughout the teams
- Internal and external communication of releases and feedbacks
- Define the branching and Merging strategy of versions and baselines across releases

Our ideal Sr. DevOps Engineer will have these skills and experience:
- + 6 years of experience in one of Release Engineering, Test Automation, Dev Ops etc.
- Understanding of Git environment (GitHub and GitHub Enterprise preferred)
- Understanding of Jenkins (bare metal and AWS, selecting and installing Jenkins plugins)
- Experience with build release and configuration management practices, including branch-based development and patch/merging oriented work flow.
- Strong skills in Groovy, Python, bash, Ruby or similar (scripting and automation experience)
- Design and development of test automation scripts
- Build systems for embedded systems
- Understanding of mobile (Android/iOS) build systems including app stores deployment
- Gated submissions Implementations (i.e. submitted software must pass unit tests before progressing)
- Proficient in SonarQube, JIRA, Jenkins
- Cross-functional teams coordination, leadership with hands on approach
- Work in a fast-paced environment
- Project ownership and execution
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)



Additional Requirements: (Nice to have)
- Understanding of auto-updating package repositories with build system artifacts
- Understanding of static analysis tools, code metrics, test coverage, etc.
- Testing using virtual targets hosted on cloud infrastructure (foreign CPUs in particular, i.e. ARM QEMU on x86 host)
- Experience in Automatic change log/release note creation, including experience with integrating bug tracking and commit messages.
- Experience in building farms, particularly with cross-toolchains
- Experience in Publishing ‘live’ internal documentation from codebase (e.g. using Doxygen) as an artifact of builds.
