A game development studio working with some of the most successful companies in the gaming industry is looking for a 3D Modeler, Hard Surface Artist. As a 3D Modeler – Hard Surface Artist youll work with Art Directors and concept artists to produce high quality 3D models to enhance the overall vision for AAA games. This is a fulltime opportunity in the Fort Lauderdale, FL area.

As a 3D Modeler – Hard Surface Artist you will
Create hard surface models with a high level of realism with a superior eye for detail, proportion and surface properties
Create and produce imaginative 3D content-model & texture weapons, vehicles, and mechanical and interface objects for games.
Generate all aspect of asset development including high resolution models, low resolution models, and textures for real-time 3D engines.
Collaborate with designers and animators to develop run-time game 3D Data procedures & pipelines.
Have expert understanding of next-gen game asset development processes, limitations and dependencies.
Possess excellent communication, time-management and organizational skills.
Actively accept and provide feedback from other artists.
Be task driven, self-motivated, and proactive.
Work well under deadline.

Background Profile:
Experience working as a Hard Surface Artist on a shipped game title (AAA), or equivalent
Minimum of 4-5 years of experience with video-game production (including some AAA productions to your name)
Excellent knowledge in preparing assets for use in engine, with supporting portfolio
Superior skills and strong working knowledge of Blender, Photoshop, Substance Painter, Maya, 3D Max, Zbrush/Mudbox and similar 3D modeling software
Well-rounded understanding of surface development, proportion, and mechanical functionality
Strong working knowledge of Photoshop and Substance Painter software applications.
Knowledge of advanced baking techniques (Normal, AO, Cavity, Spec, Gloss)
Familiar with topological constraints in modeling (high and low resolutions)
Able to incorporate technical, artistic, basic understanding of animation, and knowledge of industrial and mechanical design into asset creation
Great communication skills, able to work well in a team environment and participate in constructive critiques

This is a fulltime opportunity for a company near Fort Lauderdale, FL. You will be working onsite. Remote work is not available. Relocation may be available for the right fit candidate.
