A world leader in business solutions software is looking for a Director of UX. This candidate will be responsible for user research and design that results in the next generation learning platform that drives success for the worlds leading sales organizations. You will partner with marketing, product strategy, project management, product management, product development and customers to lead the design of innovative, industry leading products. The individual leads the User Experience (UX) team to drive the product design process from conceptualization, detailed user interface, functional design, through implementation and usability review. This individual will interact with senior leadership and customers on a regular basis. Sound like you? Daily functions:
Mentor, build and direct a User Experience (UX) team that may include, Product Designers, Human Factors Engineers, Visual Designers, Web Developers, Technical Communications Analysts, and Multimedia Analysts.

Recommend improvements to design processes as needed. Deliver overall direction and vision for the UX team.

UX resource project assignments with in-house UX staff, vendors and offshore resources, as needed, to complete UX deliverables with quality, on-time, and within budget.

Oversee and manage department budget.

Oversee the completion of user research and design work, as needed.

Build key partnerships with other business groups (market planners, marketing, product managers).

Ensure designs comply with broader, company-wide design styles, guidelines, and other common initiatives.

Represent specific design team within the broader UX team and engage in the evaluation of integration points with other products.

Track and prioritize product design milestones.

Establish user interface guidelines and standards, ensuring that these guidelines are followed during the development and maintenance of the product.

Ensure designs comply with broader, company-wide design styles, guidelines, and other common initiatives.

Qualifications:
Advanced degree preferred BA/BS, in Human Factors, Human-Computer Interaction, Industrial Design, Cognitive Psychology, or related field or demonstrated comparable experience designing commercial software products.

Have at least 7 years experience in design with a minimum of 3 years experience managing a design team in a commercial software product company.

Experience prioritizing and directing multiple design initiatives simultaneously in a fast-paced and challenging environment.

Expert people leadership skills with the ability to recruit, lead, and mentor a diverse group of creative individuals.

Leadership skills including strategic, business analysis and negotiation skills with all levels in the organization, to include senior management

Ability to translate audience, technology and other key product requirements into effective UI design solutions.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Solid background in advocating and implementing UCD, HCI, Usability and Accessibility.

Ability to articulate and represent design principles to internal and external teams.

Dynamic eye for detail and accuracy.
